Dirk

After watching Game 1 of OKC vs Dallas, i realized it was necessary to talk about Dirk Nowitzki. He has been a great player for as long as i can remember him but just like Lebron James he hasn't gotten the ring that he has well deserved. Honestly, i can appreciate Dirk more than Lebron because he has stayed in Dallas forever. Lebron on the other hand had to move to Miami for things to happen. Although, Lebrons move was for the better, he now has a state full of fans hating him. Back to the topic at hand, Dirk tonight put up 48 points and 24 of them were free throws. He now holds the record for most consecutive free throws made in a playoff game. People are already saying that he didn't deserve to go to the free throw line that many times but honestly, it doesn't matter. Anyone going to the line that many times is expected to miss at least free throw. Aside from the free throws, he was i believe 12-15 from the field. And although he made those points look easy, they would not be easy to make for any other player. Dirk has great usage of his feet. He can quickly slither pass a defender and go for the easy dunk or he does another move which i adore from him. When someone is posting up on him, he will just bounce the ball and force his opponent back a few steps. Then he will stop dribbling take one step back and put up a fadeaway jump shot off balanced. Most of the time they will go in, as you can see by his 12-15. With Dirks stunning performance tonight i hope he gets his ring this year because he has been working so hard for it but i don't even know if the Mavericks are capable of going to playoffs. Westbrook of the Thunder had a below average game and JJ Barea of the Mavericks had a great one. I believe that after tonight, the Thunder will come back stronger. Durant was already able to put up 33 points or so, just imagine if he had the ball in his possession a couple more times. I mean the game was already pretty close within the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter. I guess we'll just have to see who can be more consistent.

  1. 24 free throw points? Jesus, was his arm bleeding and bruised from all the hacking at that point?

  2. Dirk is great. As much as I dislike the Texas teams, I am rooting for Dallas.

  5. Man Dirk was a beast last night, the whole team will have to step up cause they can't expect him to do that every game.
